Gas powered saws like the Stihl GS461 are amazing but operating a
gas powered concrete chain saw in a hole excavated for an egress window is
not a good experience.
Even new saws like the Stihl GS461 concrete cutting chain saw have carbon monoxide exhausting.
Hydraulic ones like the
ICS 814 PRO are
preferred 3-1 by Gap Power rental customers.
Powered by a
20HP power unit out at the end of 25-50' of hose,
it just makes sense to go hydraulic.
The hydraulic ones win out for
smooth operation, lower noise levels and a bit
more raw power.
So grab the gas powered one
if you are in a hurry or can't deal with transporting the hydraulic power unit. Otherwise, go hydraulic.
Here's how to power teh hydraulic saw with a Bobcat type skid loader or a Takeuchi type mini excavator.
