Newton is the force needed to accelerate 1 kg of mass at the rate of 1 m/sec2.

See the Newton number beside each model shown below for easy comparison of one to another.
In non technical terms a Newton is factoring in both the effect of MPH and Cubic Feet Per Minute or CFM. We did a variation of that here at Gap Power in the days before Newtons by multiplying MPH w/ CFM and using that number to compare machines.
